Teaching Philosophy and Interests

My teaching interests span introductory earth and environmental sciences, and advanced level computational geophysics, volcanology, and tectonics courses. My approach to teaching is motivated by how students learn. In the classroom, I strive to employ research-informed active learning methods to help students develop critical thinking, technical, and communication skills that will help them gain well-rounded class experiences of working as a geoscientist.
